The Agri-Food & Veterinary Authority (AVA ) has instructed the recall of confectionery products manufactured by "The Royals (Premium Cakes) Pte Ltd" at Bedok, Singapore from its retail outlets , "The Royal Premium Cakes & Pies". This is due to a chemical contamination suspected to be a bleaching agent at the factory today during production . The factory has since been suspended from operations.
As a precautionary measure, consumers who have purchased confectioneries from any of the six retail outlets are advised to discard the products and not to consume them.
Consumers who have eaten the affected products and feel unwell or suffer from nausea should consult a doctor.
The Singapore police and the AVA are conducting investigations into this matter.
